Department of Journalism
The Curtin University Journalism department has built an exceptional reputation through its preparing students with skills, proficiency and vital attributes necessary for a career within the media industry.
The Journalism department combine professional aspects of journalistic practice and informed theoretical understanding of media law and regulation as well as the history and economics of the media, ethical and social issue.
Students build a considerable portfolio of work that has been published or publicized to launch their career.
The course responds to new convergences in media and information by enabling students to learn alongside other students in associated fields such as film and television and the Internet.
Facilities & Equipment
Curtin uses and maintains the industry standard equipment and software used for it’s teaching programs. This includes Final Cut Pro and NewsBoss digital editing systems also Adobe’s InDesign publishing software.
Digital and video cameras have also been launched to Photojournalism and television.
